I am Erica and I am writing to give siblings an insight to what life is like to have a sibling with special needs. I, myself, have a sister named Julia with Aicardi Syndrome. Julia is sixteen, while I am twelve, and I have to say, I probably could not have asked for a better older sister. Besides Julia I have two other older siblings, both brothers, named Luke and Alex.

Something to Deserve This

There are some words that cut deep and can never be forgotten – even words that aren’t meant to hurt. Several years ago, someone very close to me was talking about a friend of his who has three kids, two of whom have special needs. He told me, “She’s really not a very good mom, but even she doesn’t deserve to have two kids with special needs.”
